Understanding Youth Perspectives on Sex and Consent

Det Kriminalpræventive Råd (The Danish Criminal Prevention Council) wanted to gain further insight into how Danish youth speak, think, and act in relation to sex and consent. The aim was to understand the surroundings and social circumstances contributing to the need for expressing or asking for consent.

Holistic Research Approach

Antropologerne generated insights on the opinions and norms influencing youth's approach to sex by taking a holistic approach. They used focus group interviews, creative exercises, in-depth interviews, text interviews, and video-reflective exercises. This knowledge became the foundation of a campaign to prevent sexual assault among the youth and to promote consent for sex.

Campaign to Prevent Sexual Assault

The research findings were used to create a campaign to prevent sexual assault and influence the norm of asking for consent.
