Imagining the future of women’s contraception in India and Kenya

The Challenge of Unmet Contraceptive Needs
In developing countries, 200 million women lack access to contraceptive technologies, leading to many unintended pregnancies. Quicksand partnered with FHI 360 to investigate the unmet contraceptive needs of women in Kenya and India. The project was supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and focused on generating ideas for future products.
Human-Centred Design and Ideation Workshops
The project used human-centred design methods to understand women's experiences with existing contraceptive methods. Over 350 women and girls were interviewed through various methods, and ideation workshops were conducted in both countries, generating over 200 ideas for future research.
