‍Complexity of Device Usage 

For many people, various functionalities are replicated across several devices, which makes choosing the right device for a task a complex process. Managing how content flows across these devices is also a challenge. This research explored the range of uses and perceptions people have of their cameras, tablets, laptops, game consoles, MP players, and smartphones, together forming their 'ecosystem' of devices.

Understanding User Perceptions 

People's perceptions are influenced by the mental models they develop to manage their relationships with their devices. The underlying motivations for behavioural routines that integrate devices into people’s lives were explored. The research needed to understand what influenced their choice of the right tool for a specific job. This involved multiple phases across different time zones, requiring close collaboration among the Reach network partners Stby, Apogee, and Quicksand.
